LEAP!

I finally made it. 8 years old and still ticking. It was a good day. Nathan gave an almost impossible present...a few moments of feeling like a glamorous 21 year old again. For a fun 24 hours I had the reigns of a cute little red sports car. We drove to dinner on the freeway with the top down (California is lovely even in February), zoomed through the hills of Portola valley and drove to the top of the East Bay hills for a view of forever rolling green in one direction and forever expanding city in the other. All this with NO car seats in the back. Sammy even got to take a spin around the parking lot.

Lys, I always think of you when the end of February rolls around and you have no birthday in sight! I'm so glad you were able to celebrate your 8th in style! So fun to be back in touch with you. Your little ones are absolutely beautiful. Cheers! Tiff

Happy Birthday (late!!) Lys-An!! Sounds like a fabulous present! When I first looked at the pictures without reading the entry I thought you had purchased a new car and that the caption "LEAP" was describing the large leap you made to a fancy automobile. How fabulous you look in the car was going to make a great argument to Rob of why we need a new posh set of wheels. I have to say, it sort of made the renting of the car less dramatic for a moment, but when I came to my senses, I realized that you and Nathan give each other fabulously creative presents! You give him flying lessons, he rents you a convertible. It's wonderful! You guys know how to make the most of birthdays!
